COMPETITIVE DIVING CLUB

Students will learn and improve their diving skills with the Stone Ridge Varsity Diving Coach. they will be also be guided by two assistants.
Tuition: $240 per child for 8 classes

Sundays, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. (Grades 3 through 8)
September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28, November 4

FUN WITH LANGUAGES
Please note: Completion of this class does not lead to advance placement in the Middle School language program. This class is meant for fun and enrichment. It is intended to give students a global perspective. Please note: The classes will be an eight-part series. Each semester will contain a different cycle. Students may enroll during any semester and participate in any cycle. New information will be presented each cycle.
Chinese
This class uses Roman phonetic symbols to learn how to speak, read and write Chinese. It also includes Chinese history, philosophy, poems, painting, calligraphy and songs.
Tuition: $300 for 10-week session

Thursdays, 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. (Grades 1 through 4)
Fridays, 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. (Grades 5 through 8 )
Instructor: Ping Ping Chang is a graduate of the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan. She teaches Chinese classes at the Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture.
French
This class is an introduction to the French language. Rudimentary vocabulary such as greetings, colors, numbers, family, calendar, etc… are addressed in this course through songs and games.
Tuition: $200 for 10-week session

Monday, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Grades 1 through 4)
Instructor: Mrs. Cecile Worth, Stone Ridge Middle School French teacher, is a graduate of George Washington University.
Spanish
This class covers the geography and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. It includes rudimentary conversation such as greetings, holidays, and names. Native dress, food, dance, songs, and games are addressed in this course.
Tuition: $200 for 10-week session

Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Grades 1 through 4)
Instructor: Señora Carolina Ordonez, Middle School Spanish Teacher.

KARATE

Students are taught the basic kicking, punching, and blocking techniques of karate. Self-defense and awareness are emphasized. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.

Tuition: $150 for 10-week session

Mondays, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Grades K through 8)

Instructor: Mr. Gary Reburn
Mr. Gary Reburn from Phoenix Karate is a senior member of the Phoenix Karatedo Association and a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s College.

RECREATIONAL SWIMMING
Come join in the fun at the Stone Ridge Aquatics Center with free swimming and games. Children can use the diving boards and swimming toys along with the equipment during this class.
Tuition: $90 for 6-week session
Day/Time & Grade Level:
Fridays, 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. (Grades 1 through 4)
Dates: September 21, 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26
Instructor: Ms. Janet Gawler
Ms. Gawler is a pool operator, lifeguard, and water safety instructor at Parkside Pool. She is certified by Montgomery County as a Swimming Pool Operator, and by the American Red Cross in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard and Community First Aid.
