Stone Ridge Highlighted by HGTV in "Rebuilding Together" Project
Help us “Rebuild Together” on Monday, April 28, 2008 in Anacostia!
Thanks to our successful Second Annual “Mistletoe Mania: Deck the Halls and Help Raise Walls!”, Upper School students and alumnae will join efforts in revitalizing and rehabilitating the Anacostia River region of Southeast DC. Volunteers will dedicate our time and skills to repairing various homes of the elderly along S Street SE, providing a safe playground and educational environment for the kids at the Bethel Christian Child Development Center, and cleaning up Anacostia Park in hopes of bringing a new sense of community to the city's riverfront. In addition to the vast number of volunteers, Home and Garden TV (HGTV), the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Natural Resources Defense Council have partnered with Rebuilding Together to enhance the revitalization and environmental cause across the country. The Stone Ridge community is honored and excited to support this worthy and important project.
Rebuilding Together, formerly known as Christmas in April is the nation’s largest volunteer-based provider of home-repair services.
