The Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat Society Circle
The five Leadership Gift Clubs of the Stone Ridge Annual Fund are known collectively as the Barat Society. Members of the Barat Society typically comprise only 15 percent of all donors to the Stone Ridge Annual Fund, yet account for approximately 75 percent of the Fund's total amount each year. The support of these individuals and families both inspires other donors and reflects a deep philanthropic commitment to Stone Ridge. Clearly, the impact of these donors, and their contributions is enormously important to Stone Ridge. Barat Society members truly hold the success of the Stone Ridge Annual Fund in their hands.

* Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne was a member of the Religious of the Sacred Heart, and in 1818 was sent from France by Mother General Madeline Sophie Barat to the United States where she founded the first Sacred Heart school in St. Charles, Missouri. She was canonized in 1988.

** Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat established the Religious Society of the Sacred Heart in 1800. She was an educator who made her life's work the intellectual and spiritual development of Sacred Heart graduates. She was canonized in 1925.
